Enterprise Ireland claims UK construction wastes more than £10m each year through inefficient services Irish development agency Enterprise Ireland says the UK construction industry could save millions of pounds a year by sourcing services and products through Irish suppliers. Enterprise Ireland, which launched the Fill These Boots campaign in July to promote the Irish building industry, claims UK construction wastes more than £10m each year through inefficient services, including site issues, lead times and procurement. “The Irish construction sector is a first class industry, and this network offers the UK easy access to the cream of Irish skills, companies and products,” said Gerry McCaughey, managing director of Irish timber frame manufacturer Kingspan Century. Enterprise Ireland believes a growing demand for large construction projects in the lead up to the London 2012 Olympics will pressure the UK building industry to sharpen its focus.
