An essential source of reference
Autumn 2006
Published: 22 October, 2006
The 100% Detail exhibition from September 21-24 has been chosen as the launch pad for the second edition of the American Hardwood Export Council's (AHEC) Hardwood References which illustrates use of US hardwood in flagship buildings. Among the buildings featured are the new Copenhagen opera house, the Vacheron Constantin HQ in Geneva and Rafael Moneo's Navarra Archives in Spain. It also includes the article on the new Irish Marine Institute featured in the last edition of Timber Building. AHEC European director David Venables said the first booklet had proved an international hit. “Architects like to see timber in use – it really catalyses the market.” AHEC's stand at 100% Detail will also feature a display on 12 of the buildings in the booklet, and two additional projects.
