The company trialled the system as a way of maximising interior space in six three-storey semi-detached houses in Bradford, as well as addressing site access problems.

White Rose's Mick Butler said the system created an extra 25-30% of space on the project, “which gave us the option of adding two rooms instead of one on the top floor”.

He said the roofs on the first two properties were completed in one day, compared with about three days it would have taken to hoist attic trusses into position by crane.

White Rose is currently considering using Spatial Roof, which creates an attic room as a separate floor and roof rather than a combined unit, on other planned developments.
