Designed to let in light: the windows from Mumford & Wood's Contemporary range

Mumford & Wood has supplied high-spec timber windows for a set of luxury apartments overlooking a Kent golf course

High performance timber windows and doors from Mumford & Wood have been specified for a new build development of luxury apartments on a historic Kent estate.
Situated on high ground on a golf and country club overlooking the Kentish Weald countryside, the apartments offer high quality accommodation with the backdrop of the Chart Hills and Medway Valley.
This historic estate, which dates to 1390, has seen many changes and has been greatly extended in different styles over the last two centuries. From the most recent Victorian and Edwardian phases, apartments have been created retaining many of the original features of the grand Georgian house including fireplaces and surrounds, decorative period cornices and stonework.
Some of the original single glazed sash windows have been restored and renovated and where replacements were necessary, Mumford & Wood’s bespoke, energy rated, double glazed and corded Conservation timber sliding sash windows were specified.
In the new north east wing extension, which accommodates four high-spec apartments, Mumford & Wood’s Contemporary windows and doors have been installed to introduce light to the spacious rooms.
The bespoke timber casement windows and doors are made from laminated and clear graded larch and have factory-fitted double glazing using low ‘E’ glass as standard.
