John Brash & Company's Western red cedar cladding was used to help developer David Wilson Homes secure Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 on its latest Hampshire development Western red cedar cladding from John Brash has been selected by David Wilson Homes to help create 75 brand new Code level 4 homes in Greenfields, Hampshire. Having recently achieved an ‘A’ rating for sustainability in the BREs 2008 Green Guide to Specification, the highest environmental rating awarded by BRE, the Western red cedar cladding was integral in helping the properties meet their green build requirements, as part of the Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH). John Brash & Company ‘A’ rated Western Red Cedar cladding was used on all external aspects of the properties, including both the ground and first floors to the front, sides and rear, to create modern looking and sustainable homes. Around 8,000 linear metres of Western Red Cedar cladding was used to complete the project, while the material was chosen for both its aesthetic and insulative properties. Situated within walking distance of the picturesque village of Overton, the Greenfield showhomes boast the latest designs from David Wilson Homes and are designe to demonstrate that building sustainability does not mean having to compromise on design. Surrounded by woodland, Western red cedar cladding will also help the new properties to blend seamlessly with their surroundings. The Greenfields homes are expected to reach Level four or five of the Code for Sustainable Homes, with level six marking the highest level of sustainability achieving zero carbon emissions.
