Summer 2007
Published: 18 June, 2007
Baufritz’s carbon positive house took centre stage at Grand Designs Live at ExCeL, London The live version of the aspirational homes television programme saw a large number of timber-centric companies showcase their wares across the four areas of the event, including Lamwood Ltd, Carpenter Oak Ltd, Silva Timber Products, as well as other German house manufacturers WeberHaus, Huf Haus, Becker-Haus and Platz Haus. However, it was the Baufritz showhome which drew much of the attention, showcasing the ability of modern homes to not only have minimal carbon output but actually be carbon positive and reduce the levels of greenhouse gases in the environment. “Every Baufritz house locks away 50 tonnes of CO2,” the company said.
