Leno CLT panels use for school pavilion roof
Published: 02 December, 2011
Leno cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels have been used for the roof of a school sports pavilion in Bath. The Finnforest product was supplied by Travis Perkins’ Stroud branch for Kingswood School’s sports pavilion refurbishment and extension. Batterham Matthews Design specified Leno panels to meet the school’s strong ethos on the environment, as well as strength and visual appeal since they would be visible from the interior. The 81mm thick product, made from spruce boards that are finger-jointed and glued crosswise into large panels, also provided a robust solid surface to fix the external roof finish to. HB Lewis & Sons installed the product in one day. “Prior to this project, we had never supplied Leno before so the product was very new to us,” added David Ashenhurst, sales manager at Travis Perkins’s Stroud branch which supplied the panels. “It took just six weeks from the order through to the shipping.” Related articles: |
