The company behind the BoKlok timber frame housing development in the north-east has been awarded an architectural award for structural innovation

Home, the parent company of Live Smart @ Home, won the award as part of the Northern Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Built-in Quality Awards, having been nominated by North Tyneside Council and will now go one to represent the north-east at the national awards in October.

“We are all thrilled and delighted at winning this esteemed award,” said David Morton, a senior architect at Home Architect Services.

Live Smart @ Home has recently applied to build a further 84 BoKlok properties in the north-east, on top of the 117 houses and 36 flats currently under construction.

The BoKlok concept was developed by IKEA and construction firm Skansa.
